We are seeking to appoint a Senior Faculty Estates Operations Officer to join our busy and productive team. The Faculty Estates teams play a pivotal role within the University acting as the key interface between the academic Faculties and Professional Services teams who occupy the buildings and the Estates and Facilities Directorate who manage and maintain them.
You will be expected to advise our clients on their property and building project requirements, assessing their feasibility and cost, setting these in the context with the services provided by the Directorate. Your advice should ensure that projects match the aspirations of clients from inception to completion by challenging and understanding the client’s needs and expectations through the development of a robust brief.
You will help to manage specific Faculty or Estates budgets which fund improvement and development projects and ensure the best value is achieved within the context of the University’s financial regulations.
You will be a team player who can communicate using a variety of methods and possess strong interpersonal skills required to ensure you can contribute to the smooth running of the campus operation.
We are looking for a candidate that can:
1. Work to specified deadlines with associated document management and reporting capabilities.
2. Demonstrate knowledge of budgetary responsibilities together with a proven track record of delivering projects and services to time, quality and budget.
3. Manage communication between all stakeholders.
4. Establish, build and maintain positive relationships across all partners and stakeholders.
As an ideal candidate you will have:
1. An appropriate construction or facilities management related degree, professional qualification or significant equivalent experience in a property, construction of facilities management environment.
2. A proven track record of providing advice in construction, maintenance, space management and FM provision, in a customer focused environment.
3. High levels of IT literacy including contemporary office applications (365 etc.).
4. Experience of and ability to produce professional written reports and correspondence, and in delivering clear written, visual and verbal reports or presentations.
5. Strong negotiation and relationship building skills with the ability to influence others outside of your direct control.
6. Experience of overseeing relationships between contractors, consultants and clients, understanding their needs and placing these in the context of contract delivery and achievement of client expectations.
7. Experience of carrying out commissioning and managing surveys and producing schedules of maintenance work.
