Receptionist per week required for highly motivated, innovative, forward thinking, training practiceserving 16500 patients in the leafy suburb of Wilmslow, Cheshire. Experiencedesirable but full training will be given.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception dutiesand the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include, but are not limited to,greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system,booking appointments, the processing of information and assisting patients asrequired.
To act as the central point of contact for patients, thedistribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team,liaising with multi-disciplinary team members and external agencies such assecondary care and community service providers.

Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities ofthe Receptionist. There may be, onoccasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent uponfactors such as workload and staffing levels:
Maintain andmonitor the practice appointment system
Processpersonal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
Answer incomingphone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers requestappropriately
Signpostpatients to the correct service
Initiatingcontact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members andexternal agencies
Clinically codedata onto EMIS web
Photocopydocumentation as required
Data entry ofnew and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
Input data intopatients healthcare records as necessary
Direct requestsfor information,, SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms to theadministrative team
Manage allqueries as necessary in an efficient manner
Carry outsystem searches as requested
Maintain aclean, tidy, effective working area at all times
Monitor andmaintain the reception area and notice boards
Support allclinical staff with general tasks as requested
Supportadministrative staff, providing cover during staff absences
Action incomingemails and correspondence as necessary
Scan patientrelated documentation and attach scanned documents to patients healthcarerecords
Completeopening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota
As required supportcolleagues in the management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they areprocessed accurately and efficiently
Order andmonitor stationery supplies
Produce,maintain and participate in the receptionist rota for lunch and out of hourscover
Supportreception staff development, providing guidance and direction, ensuring staffare up to date with mandatory training
Identify andprovide team training where required
Support the PracticeManager with all Patient Participation Group related matters
Support thehealth promotion lead and display promotional material on the allocated noticedboards and in the waiting room
