Equans is looking for an Electrician to join our team in Dunbar at Torness Power Station on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week for our EDF contract. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview:
1. Attends pre-job brief and asks questions to check understanding.
2. Reads and understands Work Order/Instructions/Method Statements.
3. Selects equipment for the job and checks that it is in good working order.
4. Selects appropriate materials for the job and ensures that it is in proper working order.
5. Reads and understands the wiring diagrams appropriate to the task.
6. Communicates with the client.
7. Capable of installing cable, conduit, and tray.
8. Cleans and tidies work area upon completion.
9. Removes barriers/signs at the appropriate time.
10. Disposes of equipment in accordance with instructions and legislation.
11. Completes Work Order card indicating work completed.
Impact: As an effective member of the Hard Services Team, you will be focused on customer care with a can-do attitude and the flexibility and adaptability to work within the team in a changing business environment.
Complexity:
1. Be able to rectify problems where appropriate (following correct procedures).
2. Identify and report areas and procedures that fail to meet expected standards (Safety, Technical and Environmental).
3. Carry out appropriate risk assessments before undertaking any work.
Qualifications or Required Experience:
1. Recognised Apprenticeship/NVQ Qualification.
2. ECS Health and Safety.
3. 18th Edition Electrical Installation Inspection and Testing to BS or greater.
4. Electrical experience in commercial and industrial installations.
5. Experience of working on Nuclear sites preferred but not essential.
6. Lighting and small power.
7. Testing and inspection.
8. Panel modifications and builds.
9. Cat 5 installations.
10. Safe electrical isolation.
