The Opportunity
Leep Utilities is fast becoming one of the UK’s top NAVs and, to drive this growth, we are now recruiting for a Site Supervisor (Clean Water) to work within our NAV business to oversee the safe, compliant, installation of water infrastructure for new residential and commercial developments.
New Appointments and Variations (NAVs) are limited companies which provide a water and/or sewerage service to customers in an area which was previously served by the Regional Water Authorities.
You’ll be working alongside the UK’s premier developers, and their self-lay providers, providing support, from the early design concepts through to delivery and completion of their schemes. You will be home-based and responsible for managing your own diary. You will have previous experience in the utilities sector as well as being innovative and keen to support with effective business improvements.
Key Responsibilities
* Joined up activities and optimised flow of information - Liaise with Water Project Managers on the planning of on-site activities and the completion of site reports where necessary, providing written site updates in a timely manner. Managing your personal diary to ensure site visits and project updates are aligned against the client’s weekly whereabouts. Schedule regular monthly meetings with Senior Water Project Manager to discuss ongoing schemes, updates and address any potential queries/issues/work delays.
* Adherence to compliance standards - Monitor the progress of projects to ensure compliance with regular onsite safety regulations and audits, ensuring the safe, compliant installation of the Leep water infrastructure in line with Water Regulations, Industry and Safety Standards. Checking that the contractors carry the relevant accreditations to conduct the works (WIRS etc).
* Subject matter expertise - Provide guidance and advice to SLP/ICP/Developer, and their contractors, throughout the duration of the project, ensuring the designs follow the Water Industry Regulations to allow full design approval by the company appointed design resource/consultants. Ensuring relevant works are in line with the Construction Programmes and provide regular updates where necessary. You’ll complete regular Risk Assessments and POWRA’s in line with our company policies.
* Project Manager support - Manage project snagging works to satisfactory completion and standard, reviewing any design variations. Support the procurement of meters to ensure timely meter fits in line with future connections and undertaking meter checks where necessary. Support the production of regular progress reports and on site where required for all commissioning works to advise and document any issues.
* Project management and handover - Undertake the full project management of schemes where required to support the delivery of the BAU works portfolio and work with the Asset Management department to ensure that new assets are handed over, in a timely manner, with all relevant required data.
About You
* Knowledge and experience of working in the clean water industry (essential)
* Knowledge and experience of working with DNO’s / IDNO’s and Self Lay Providers (essential)
* Knowledge/understanding of the NAV industry (preferred)
* Knowledge and experience of the Water Design Process (preferred)
* Understanding of water regulatory standards and the compliance process (preferred)
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes (preferred)
* Adaptability and an eagerness to learn.
* The ability to be flexible in terms of time, location, and activity.
* Ability to foresee problems and identify workable solutions or step in to ensure the problem is eradicated at the earliest opportunity.
