We are delighted to be working with an outstanding primary school in Kingston Upon Thames to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Unqualified SEN Teaching Assistant for a January or February 2025 start.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for education and a desire to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). While formal qualifications are not essential, we are seeking candidates eager to develop their skills, gain experience in a school setting, and grow within the education sector. The school places great value on enthusiasm, commitment, and a willingness to support children with needs such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and other learning or behavioural challenges.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN, helping them engage effectively with the curriculum.
- Assist the classroom teacher in creating an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
- Support the implementation of tailored individual learning and behaviour plans.
- Encourage the development of students' social, emotional, and communication skills.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with students to promote their confidence and well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to deliver a coordinated approach to pupil support.
- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their learning and development.
- An interest in education and a desire to assist students with diverse needs.
- A proactive, adaptable, and positive attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, or voluntary setting is advantageous but not essential.
- A commitment to personal growth and professional development.
- Availability for full-time work from January/February during term time.
