Principal Designer
Location - North Yorkshire or West Yorkshire (with hybrid working)
A Principal Designer is required to join a Building and Design Consultancy in North or West Yorkshire. The company are one of the largest multi-discipline building design consultancies in the North of England with a consistent stream of workflow. They offer a broad range of services in Building Surveying, Civil & Structural, Highways and Drainage Engineering and more.
Principal Designer Benefits:
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (Dependant on experience)
Permanent role - 40 Hours Per Week

Principal Designer The role:
Attending design team meetings, reviewing designs and identifying foreseeable hazards and design issues that potentially affect the Health & Safety of those involved in the project and future occupants of the buildings. Offer solutions / guidance to any of the designers' issues
Review designers' compliance with their responsibilities under CDM2015.
Prepare pre-construction information and issue to tendering contractors
Liaise with principal contractor and clients to ensure the Construction Phase Plan is suitable and in place prior to commencement of construction works
Prepare and issue F10 Notifications where applicable
Co-ordinate and prepare Health & Safety Files
Ad-hoc CDM advice to designers, contractors and clients
Principal Designer Requirements:
A recognised design qualification
General / Construction Certificate
Member of the APS / IOSH or equivalent professional body
Working knowledge of CDM2015 and associated guidance (L153)
5 years' experience in a CDM Advisory / PD role and understanding of the construction and design processes
Client facing experience and attendances at progress and design meetings
Computer literate and competent with Microsoft Office suite of programmes (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Excellent communication skills at all levels
