Key Details Team/Business Area: Early Years Hours: 40 p/w - office-hours, Monday to Friday (with some evening and weekend work) Location: Head Office, Ravenshead, Nottingham Line Manager: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) About the Role As Head of Early Years – Education, you will be responsible for and oversee the implementation of the Cherubs Nurseries approach and inspirational curriculum. This will be delivered and supported by an ambitious and robust planning, observation and tracking cycle for all children that meets EYFS and individual requirements. What you’ll be doing… Child-centric Reflect the vision and values of Cherubs Nurseries in the approach – underpinning it with our rich and vibrant history and experience as a nursery provider. Maintain and regularly update the Cherubs Nurseries curriculum – ensuring it is inspirational, robust and on-trend, but can be easily tailored to meet the needs of the children and EYFS. Implement and maintain an ambitious planning, observation and tracking cycle for all children that meets EYFS and individual requirements – but is straightforward and achievable for our Early Years Educators to implement. Be responsible for the Cherubs Nurseries Curriculum pack, ensuring a range of engaging topics, themes and acknowledgement days. Seek out age-appropriate extra-curricular activities and ensure their implementation across all nurseries, regularly assessing their impact on the children and ROCE. Maintain an engaging inspiration library for our Early Years Educators to access – supporting consistent learning opportunities across all nurseries. Regularly monitor and report on the outcomes for children. Communicate with Purpose Successfully implement our approach and curriculum across all nurseries through a range of engaging training and coaching. Put together a range of engaging and enriching educational resources for our parents such as Going Home Bags, downloadable packs and in-person events. Play to Win Maintain good and outstanding gradings at all nurseries, ensuring our teams are well-prepared for their routine inspections – alongside Head of Early Years – Quality. Plan and organise our termly training days across all nurseries, ensuring a balance of targeted training opportunities and engaging team building activities. Coach and develop our nursery teams through hosting activities across all rooms and nurseries to raise the standard of early years education at Cherubs Nurseries. Maintain the allocated budget for Early Years, ensuring this is well-spent across all nurseries through thorough research, building strong relationships with partners and taking a proactive approach to spending. Qualifications: Higher education qualification in a relevant subject such as Early Childhood studies, Education, Childhood and Psychology or Early Years Professional Leadership. Level 3 (or equivalent) Early Years Qualification Experience: At least 3-years working as part of a nursery or early years setting at leadership level. Commercial awareness with an understanding of why consistency is important in early years Skills: Natural and confident communicator and presenter – you will need to be able to communicate professionally and effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders Strong IT and computer skills – you will need to be able to use Microsoft Office, email and Cherubs Nurseries systems. Attention to detail – you will need to be able to critically evaluate your work and review the success post-implementation. Working in early years, you will also need to spot and trouble-shoot any health, safety or education issues as they arise. Other role requirements You must be a car driver, with access to your own vehicle. Business travel will be required for this role. What does success look like in this role? Achieving annual aims and objectives allocated to the Early Years team by the CEO and Board of Directors. Supporting our nurseries to maintain Ofsted “good” gradings but striving for “outstanding” gradings. What does flexible/hybrid working look like in this role? We acknowledge that this role can accommodate flexible/hybrid working. Up to 1-day per week could be done away from the office, with flexible start and finish times. This is dependent on hours and working pattern.
