Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for decontamination supervisor Band 4 to lead a team of technicians within Endoscopy Decontamination Unit at Bedford Hospital. You will lead a busy, friendly team, dealing with the reprocessing of flexible endoscopes, following the ISO accredited policies, procedures and work instructions within department's quality system. The successful candidate must have a flexible approach to work and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. We are looking for a dynamic people person who will be responsible for providing senior support gained through their previous experience to the decontamination technicians and to the delivery of quality service on day-to-day operational basis. This is a full time position working three weeks roster: Early: 7.30-15.30, Middle: 10.30 - 18.30, Late: 14.00 - 22.00. Working every 6th weekend Saturday on call and working 12.00-20.00, Sunday on call. Main duties of the job This fast paced and high patient turn over area requires passionate and forward thinking staff. You must be committed to high standards of infection prevention and control and will need to demonstrate the ability to work as a team member as well as under your own initiative with a focus and supporting and developing individuals. Having excellent communication skills, along with ability to think independently and prioritise tasks is necessary. You will work closely with Multidisciplinary Team who care for, and support patients through the service. Candidates should have Specialist Skills and experience in decontamination. Experience in training and supervision roles in Decontamination services is desirable but not essential.
