Director of Allied Health Professions
Are you a registered Allied Health Professional, educated to degree level with a Masters degree or study at Masters level with a leadership qualification or demonstrable formal study of leadership principles and practice?
As Director of Allied Health Professions within the Nursing, Midwifery and AHP Directorate, you would be responsible for providing strategic direction and professional leadership, ensuring AHP contribution to the formulation and delivery of NHS Dumfries and Galloway corporate objectives.
You would provide expertise and advice to the Nurse Director, NHS Dumfries and Galloway Board, Health and Social Care Senior Leadership Team and the Board Management Team in relation to AHP issues; lead and be accountable for the strategic development for AHP services within NHS Dumfries and Galloway in line with corporate objectives, Local Delivery Plans and national policy.
Professionally lead and support AHP Senior Managers to transform service provision through service modernisation, redesign and reform, AHP workforce and workload planning, AHP education, research, training and development and quality of AHP interventions in relation to professional standards and health care governance in general.
You would work in collaboration with key stakeholders in the development and delivery of AHP services, maximising the opportunity for new roles and pathways.
You will influence national and regional policy and guideline development and ensure these are implemented locally.
You will be responsible for the delivery of key outcomes of current national AHP strategies supporting the delivery of corporate objectives.
You would identify and undertake a portfolio of corporate responsibilities and lead on the development of policy and strategy which will optimise the AHP contribution to the formulation and delivery of NHS D&G corporate objectives.
On behalf of the Board, be responsible for developing, leading and managing the strategic direction of the volunteer programme and the Spiritual Care and Patient Services Teams.
