About the Role
The Global Merchandise Planning (GMP) Team is a vital part of ASOS, supporting the company’s commercial strategy to deliver a strong global offering. They are responsible for driving the assortment strategy and setting purchase targets across business divisions, ensuring stock objectives are achieved across all product categories.
Working closely with buying and merchandising teams, they manage forecasting and intake to deliver the optimal product mix, maximise sales opportunities, and ensure ASOS has the right products in the right place at the right time.
As a Global Merchandise Assistant Planner you’ll report into a Merchandise planner.
We currently have one permanent position and one fixed-term position available within the team.
What You’ll Be Doing...
* Working closely with buying teams to understand their product strategy and set intake plans by fulfilment centre (FC) in accordance.
* Analysing by category/brand to ensure the stock meets customer demand, reacting to trends and iterating plans.
* Responsible for ensuring intake plans set roll back to target for buying division at FC level
* Supporting the product group planners on their product forecasts, maintaining and forecasting WSSIs
* Supporting the FC planners with analysis to drive trade in key markets
* Using analytical data to support decision making and analyse trading patterns and make recommendations for action to be taken to unexpected sales reactions and gaps in budgets
* Building strong cross-functional relationships that enable trust and buy-in from product and channel team
Qualifications
Who We’d Like to Meet...
* Previous experience of working in planning/merchandising/supply chain, ideally within ecommerce fashion retail.
* Strong analytical and numerical skills
* An approachable and flexible working style and the ability to work calmly under pressure
* Ideal but not essential to be proficient in SQL / PowerBI
* The ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with internal teams
* Drive for self-development, seeking continuous feedback and opportunities to take on greater responsibility
* Excellent time management, with the ability to effectively manage own workload to hit deadlines and communicate confidently and openly with others
* A passion and interest in online Fashion Retail, with strong global market and product knowledge.
