Job Title: Data Technician Location: Theale, Reading Job type: Full time, Permanent Onsite: 2-3 days hybrid working in the office Hydro International Data Insights & Analysis Ltd (formerly Hydro-Logic Services), a CRH Company, is a leading UK provider of advanced data services and expertise. We help municipal, industrial, and construction customers improve their water management processes, increase operational performance, and reduce environmental impact. With around 40 years of experience, Hydro International Data Insights & Analysis undertakes data collection and analysis for a wide range of clients nationwide. We compile, quality assure, and issue detailed reports relating to water levels, water quality, and discharge. Operating and maintaining Hydro-Logic Flexi Logger 105 equipment across approximately 1,400 sites, we deliver tailored services to major clients as well as local authorities and parish councils. Our flood water monitoring systems provide critical data to communities affected by heavy rainfall. About the role: We have an exciting opportunity to join our Hydrometry and Monitoring team based in Theale. This role includes processing and reporting water data (e.g., flow, depth, quality, and rainfall) collected by our field team, along with administrative office tasks. There may also be opportunities for fieldwork, which involves visiting sites across England to carry out water measurements and maintain telemetry logging equipment. Essential Requirements Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word and Excel. GCSE or equivalent qualification in Geography, Environmental Education, Geology, or Outdoor Education. BSc degree in Environmental Management, Geography or Geology (preferred). A valid UK driving license. Familiarity with data analysis, data quality, and Data Technician tasks, with a focus on managing data quality Experience in hydrometric data reporting (preferred) Willingness to occasionally assist Field Technicians with outdoor tasks. Comfortable working in water and confident in swimming. Experience Full training will be provided, so prior experience is not required if you meet the essential skills listed above. Experience in processing and reporting hydrometric field data or carrying out administrative duties would be beneficial but is not essential.
