The team is part of the broader Supply Chain Legal team which primarily provides legal support to GSK's Global Supply Chain on matters ranging from quality, regulatory, EHS, manufacturing, logistics, trade compliance and third-party supply arrangements to business development transactions/network strategy initiatives. Team members also support the resolution of commercial disputes arising in relation to the Global Supply Chain business, in collaboration with lawyers in GSK's Dispute Resolution and Prevention team. The role reports to Assistant General Counsel, Global Supply Chain (Sites, Logistics and Trade Compliance), and you will be based in Germany at GSK's offices in Munich, Germany (London, UK or Wavre, Belgium also considered). The role involves counseling on a wide range of activities critical to the Global Supply Chain organization, including advice on good distribution practices, wholesale distribution licensing, logistics contracts (including templates), trade routes, trade compliance and other legal issues related to the manufacture, storage, and supply of products in a compliant manner. Your role will also be responsible for the support of a number manufacturing sites and will provide legal support to the Global Logistics Team, Global Trade Compliance and the Customer Supply Chain Team. You will collaborate closely with other members of the Legal Contracting Network and Global Supply Chain team as well as in-country lawyers. You must be energized by working in a dynamic environment and in a matrix-fashion to develop solutions to complex business needs. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Advising the Global Supply Chain business and legal colleagues on various legal issues, including good distribution practices, trade compliance and logistics. Applying a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach, with a commitment to clear communication and timely response. Serving as lead legal counsel responsible for providing efficient and effective support to a number of assigned manufacturing sites across the Global Supply Chain with respect to day-to-day operations, through a combination of support from yourself, other Global Supply Chain lawyers, Local Operating Company lawyers, external counsel and the Legal Contracting Network team. Anticipating and proactively supporting the prevention and management of legal risks arising at the sites Supporting the resolution of disputes arising from the manufacturing sites or in the logistics space, in collaboration with lawyers in the Global Supply Chain (Supply Chain Transactions, Disputes and External Manufacturing) team and GSK's Dispute Resolution and Prevention team. Counselling on operational issues affecting GSK's internal and external supply chains. Participating in business meetings and providing legal advice to project teams responsible for delivering significant initiatives on behalf of the Global Supply Chain Organisation. Engaging and managing the activities of external legal counsel where appropriate. Anticipating and advising on changes in the external environment to ensure organizational preparedness. Partnering with other lawyers to devise, implement, and share best practices across the legal function and with business stakeholders. Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Law degree and licensed to practice as in-house counsel in the relevant jurisdiction Strong legal skills combined with high integrity and sound commercial acumen. Relevant experience in a major law firm and/or in-house legal function. Strong understanding of contract law and excellent drafting skills. Familiarity with EU and UK regulatory framework applicable to a global pharmaceutical company. Ability to engage proactively, influence and interact effectively with Legal colleagues, commercial clients and senior management, and to demonstrate the GSK Values, Expectations and business partnering and guardian capabilities. Ability to work within a matrix structure, collaborating with and supporting GSK legal colleagues within Global Supply Chain, Legal Contracting Network and Local Operating Companies, and across different business groups and international markets. A self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team, managing numerous matters and competing priorities effectively. Strong communication skills, with fluency in English both spoken and written. Proficiency in German is a plus. Knowledge of the medicines and vaccines in the GSK pipeline and the company priorities.
