Commercial Lawyer – Belfast (Mid-Level, 3 - 5 years' PQE)
An exciting opportunity has come up within Marsh McLennan Legal team for a mid-level, commercial lawyer looking to develop their career within a leading professional services firm.

Given the success of our Legal Commercial Team in Belfast, we are looking to further expand our team to bring in a mid-level lawyer to join our high performing and well-regarded legal team.
We will count on you to:
1. Draft, review and negotiate client agreements and ancillary legal documentation
2. Negotiate contracts with third party providers, working closely with our Compliance teams for regulatory input
3. Act as an escalation point to the commercial paralegal team in the first instance and provide technical feedback where necessary
4. Collaborate with the commercial paralegal team to maintain and update template agreements and implement process developments
5. Support the wider Legal team with internal projects and various commercial matters
6. Maintain up-to-date legal knowledge to ensure compliance with relevant policies and legislation
What you need to have:
1. 3-5 years’ PQE (qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales or an equivalent common law jurisdiction)
2. A commercial lawyer with good technical skills
3. Relevant experience in a professional services firm, financial services organisation or law firm
4. Excellent document drafting, communication, and negotiation skills
5. Strong commercial acumen with an ability to deliver clear and pragmatic solutions
What makes you stand out?
1. Experience in supervising junior team members/paralegals or being a contact for contractual escalations would be advantageous
2. Experience in the insurance sector is highly preferable
3. Experience working with data protection legislation and negotiating DPAs
