The role We’re now looking for a motivated & experienced Data Migration Analyst to join the Jensten Group, based from our Oldham office (we will also consider remote working for the right person). The main purpose of the role is to manage the migration of data between insurance policy administration systems and its integration into an existing Data Warehouse. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL-based technologies and a deep understanding of data migration processes, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and completeness throughout the lifecycle of the migration project. Reporting to the BI Analyst, you’ll work closely with the wider data and technology team, as well as other stakeholders to ensure data is collected, stored and processed in line with business needs. Some key objectives & responsibilities will include: Data Migration - Plan, execute, and validate the migration of data and documents between insurance policy administration systems. Data Integration- Design and implement processes to integrate migrated data into an existing data warehouse. ETL Development- Develop and maintain ETL processes using SSIS to extract, transform, and load data. Ensure that ETL workflows are performant, scalable, and aligned with project requirements. Database Management- Use T-SQL to query, manipulate, and analyse data during migration and validation phases. Backup and restore databases using SQL Server to enable integration of source data into the data warehouse environment. Data Validation & Testing- Conduct rigorous validation checks to ensure the accuracy and completeness of migrated data. Develop and execute test scripts to verify the success of data migration and integration tasks. Documentation & Reporting- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for migration processes, data mappings, and validation procedures. Stakeholder Collaboration- Work closely with business analysts, developers, project managers, and the M&A teams to ensure that data migration efforts align with business objectives. About you As our Data Migration Analyst, you’ll have a strong teamwork ethic, communication, and collaborative skills with a keen eye for detail. Also having strong technical skills, you’ll work closely with other IT professionals, management, and various stakeholders within the Group. You’ll also be or have: Experience of working in the same/ similar role. Experience of Insurance policy administration systems and related data structures. Experience in data migration between enterprise systems within the Insurance industry Experience working in a data warehouse environment with knowledge of data governance and security best practices. Strong understanding of data quality, data mapping, and reconciliation techniques. Proficiency in T-SQL, SSIS, and SQL Server. Experience using DevOps and Git. Strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail. Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently. Exposure to Azure Data Factory. Experience using Powershell/CMD scripts to move files.
