Independent Reviewing Officer – Croydon Council
Permanent – 36 hours per week
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a safeguarding and reviewing service to children and young people who are looked after. To provide advice and consultation on issues of care planning and quality of services to all agencies involved in caring for looked after children and young people. To ensure that children and young people who are looked after are receiving the services to which they are entitled.
Essential Requirements
1. Expertise in working on looked after children cases.
2. Skills in chairing complex meetings.
3. The ability to manage complex information, contribute to plans and achieve excellent outcomes in service delivery.
4. Research knowledge of the impact on children of domestic violence, parental drug abuse and mental health.
5. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and transfer chairing skills to a variety of settings and requirements.
6. Advanced Social Worker.
7. Experience of overseeing social work practice, preferably at managerial level.
8. Working effectively on safeguarding and complex LAC cases.
9. Experience of applying evidence-based interventions.
10. Experience of contributing to service improvement initiatives.
11. Experience of enabling and empowering others to develop their practice.
