An exciting opportunity has arisen within the IT Operations Practice at HM Land Registry (HMLR) for a Cloud Engineer. If you want to be instrumental in providing technical support for maintenance of IT infrastructure and platforms, we would love to hear from you.

Our software systems form part of the critical national infrastructure, safeguarding land and property ownership valued at £7 trillion, enabling over £1 trillion worth of personal and commercial lending to be secured against property across England and Wales.
Job description
The IT Operations Practice are responsible for the performance and delivery of all technical infrastructure which underpins and supports the organisation. It consists of a number of technical teams which provide support, monitor, and operate technical solutions.
In this key role, you will contribute to the planning and management of technical changes and pro-actively support live services. You will take ownership of resolving live incidents or escalating them when necessary. Additionally, you will support continuous enhancements to live services and systems to prevent service outage. Your responsibilities will include building, maintaining, and supporting Linux servers hosted on AWS and VMware virtualised environments, adhering to DevOps methodologies.
Person specification
To meet the requirements of this role, you will have a working knowledge in at least three of the following:
Working in a Devops environment
Windows or Azure environments
Deploying to Cloud Hosting providers
Infrastructure as code and automation/orchestration technologies, such as pipelines, Terraform.
Experience of programming (e.g., Python / PHP / Ruby / Java
Linux operating systems
Knowledge of supporting production IT Services.
We are seeking candidates with experience of high-level planning and managing technical changes, as well as the ability to gather and analyse technical information and solve problems. Effective communication skills, including the ability to interact and build working relationships with engineers and other stakeholders is essential.

We expect everyone to spend at least 60% of their working time in the office.
