We're seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic lawyer to join our EMEA Legal Department as Counsel in our Liquidity and Financing Legal team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the commercial growth of BNY's world class offering of Margin Services, Liquidity and Securities Financing solutions for buy side clients. This role is based in the United Kingdom (London or Manchester). In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways: Support the execution of strategic business initiatives through the provision of precise and commercial legal advice and solutions. Draft, review and negotiate contracts efficiently with clients and third parties. Advise and support the development and deployment of new products and change program in line with applicable law & regulation Stay ahead of relevant legal and regulatory developments, to effectively support the business in managing legal and regulatory risks Collaborate and support knowledge transfer within the legal department Support senior legal team members on a wide range of legal department initiatives To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following: A qualified Solicitor or Barrister currently licensed to practice in England & Wales with ideally 5 years PQE, with relevant experience gained from a leading law firm or financial institution Strong product legal/commercial contractual negotiation experience Knowledge of one or more of liquidity, custody, collateral, execution services and securities finance products is essential Knowledge of some or all of the regulation applicable to the above products (including CASS, MIFID (including UK equivalent) and PSD2) Understanding of English law security structures Strong legal advisory skills and attention to detail Strong drafting and negotiating skills Able to work under pressure and manage competing priorities Commercial, practical and flexible attitude Able to work collaboratively with strong communication skills Intellectually curious, adaptable, and committed to continuous growth Enthusiastic in engaging in and developing a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion At BNY, our culture speaks for itself.
