Clinical Research Fellow Advanced Heart Failure, Transplantation, MCS

We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow in Cardiovascular Medicine (advanced heart failure, transplantation and mechanical circulatory support) to be based primarily at the Harefield Hospital site.
The successful candidate will carry out an epidemiological study related to advanced heart failure, cardiac transplantation, and left ventricular assist devices, working towards obtaining an MD or PhD.
The funding is secured for the successful candidate who will be expected to work towards an MD/PhD (tuition fees to be funded by the candidate). The contract duration is 1 year with a possibility of an extension for up to 2 years by mutual consent.

Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will be involved in the clinical care of patients in the project and will be the primary point of contact for these patients. They will work closely with Imperial College HealthCare partners Discover NOW team as well as the heart failure cardiologists in the North West London area, actively recruiting all patients required for the project.
Job Responsibilities
The post holder will participate in submitting ethics applications, recruiting and consenting patients, follow-up of the subjects, data analysis, and manuscript writing. They will also be expected to write and submit grants for other projects based on advanced heart failure, transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support, collaborating with colleagues within the transplant unit at Harefield Hospital and with heart failure specialists across North West London.

Qualifications/Training
* GMC Registered
* MBBS or equivalent
* Full MRCP
Experience and Knowledge
* Minimum 1 year experience involving unselected medical take.
* Experience in the management of heart failure patients.
* Demonstrate adequate rate of career progression.
* Familiar with UK model of healthcare.
* Knows own limitations.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
* Ability to organise and prioritise.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Personal evidence of excellent academic achievement, at appropriate level for career.
* Understand importance of research to aims of trust.
* Has career intention which will be enhanced by research in advanced heart failure, transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support.

Salary: £49,909 to £61,825 a year P/A excl London Zone
