Main duties of the job
The post is based within the Mid Essex Community Mental Health OT services. The OT team supports the locality Specialist Mental Health Teams (SMHT) in secondary care based at The Gables (Braintree) and the C& E Centre (Chelmsford). We work with individuals who are experiencing occupational deprivation and reduced functioning due to their mental health difficulties. Presentations seen include, but are not restricted to: Anxiety, Bi-Polar Disorder, Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder, Depression, and Schizophrenia.
Working as part of the Occupational Therapy team alongside the wider multidisciplinary locality mental health team, you will be responsible for working with the individual to identify how their current mental health impacts upon their daily functioning, help identify needs and goals, and establish appropriate treatment interventions to support them within their rehabilitation.

You will be part of the Trust wide Occupational Therapy service provision, which has a strong professional leadership. Offering Band 5 development forum, Trustwide preceptorship and direct professional supervision and management.
You will be part of a small team that delivers a variety of therapeutic interventions, aimed towards helping individuals manage their mental health and support them through their recovery journey.
