As a Mechanical Project Manager, based in Melbourne’s East, and working on the Mornington Peninsula, your role within our organization is pivotal to the successful execution of a multi-year capital program. Your responsibilities encompass various aspects of mechanical engineering and project management, where your primary focus will be Business case development, project planning and management. In this capacity, you will develop and execute comprehensive project plans, ensuring a clear definition of scope, objectives, and timelines.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams and operational stakeholders is key to ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives, and you will implement effective project management methodologies to meticulously monitor progress and address any deviations that may arise.
Furthermore, your role extends to managing mechanical system design and implementation. You will oversee the design of mechanical systems and components in strict compliance with relevant Australian codes and standards. This involves the creation of detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation, as well as the critical task of evaluating and selecting appropriate mechanical equipment and components essential for the success of the projects.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, ideally with current professional engineering registration status.
* Commitment to safety and sustainability in all aspects of mechanical engineering work.
* Proven experience in project management and mechanical engineering, preferably in large-scale infrastructure projects.
* In-depth knowledge of Australian mechanical codes, regulations, and industry standards.
* Proficiency in design software and tools relevant to mechanical engineering.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
* Ability to develop and execute project plans, ensuring alignment with objectives and timelines.
* Solid understanding of quality control and assurance processes to maintain the integrity of mechanical systems.
* Experience in evaluating and selecting mechanical equipment and components for projects.
* Proficiency in risk assessment, mitigation, and contingency planning.
* Capability to manage permitting and approval processes for mechanical installations.
* Strong record-keeping skills and the ability to maintain detailed project documentation.
