Responsibilities & Duties
To lead and support a team of electrical engineers in collaboration with department leaders to ensure proactive response to planned maintenance activity and breakdowns.
Accountable for the delivery of the site's maintenance, including supporting the operations team to achieve compliance with the production plan by minimizing engineering downtime, increasing availability, performance, and efficiency of the existing assets through prompt repairs and continuous improvement.
1. Hands-on role
2. Carry out duties ensuring the site achieves and maintains required GMP standards
3. Carry out project work as directed including panel building
4. Attend machinery breakdowns & ensure that all measures taken are recorded on CMMS (Shire)
5. Provide first line maintenance support to the manufacturing departments
6. Line monitoring to improve efficiency
7. Carry out planned/scheduled maintenance tasks & record work done or required on CMMS (Shire)
8. Provide feedback for improving the planned maintenance system
9. Record planned maintenance tasks & breakdowns on the CMMS (Shire)
10. Order spare parts & liaise with Engineering Stores
11. Assist with machinery installation and decommissioning
12. Participate in electrical and mechanical proactive and reactive maintenance to the best of your capability
13. Diagnose machine breakdowns and act accordingly
14. Communicate and escalate accordingly when assistance is required
15. Carry out routine equipment safety and maintenance inspections
16. Ensure all work conforms to statutory & safety requirements
17. Ensure that plant and equipment perform to manufacture product efficiently to high quality standards
18. Liaise, assist with training and support other departments in general running of the factory
19. Undertake the training of others as required for development and regulatory requirements
20. Identify own training needs and with manager agree a time plan for achieving this
21. Contribute to and help implement continuous improvement, to enhance quality, safety, efficiency and waste reduction
22. Participate in Continuous Improvement teams as required
23. Communicate daily with Team Leaders & Managers to ensure project and planned maintenance; engineering and production priorities are understood
24. Coach and train colleagues where required
Experience
1. Time served engineering/apprentice trained
2. NVQ level 3 or equivalent within mechanical/electrical engineering
3. 18th edition rules & regulations would be advantageous
Working Hours
1. Double day shift:
2. Week 1 - Monday/Thursday – 6:00am/2:00pm and Friday 6:00am/12:00pm
3. Week 2 – Monday/Thursday – 2:00pm/10:00pm and Friday 12:00pm/6:00pm
