About Us:
We are the Benefits, Assessments & Income Control Unit based in Kings House, Bedworth. This is a busy and energetic unit consisting of three teams collectively responsible for undertaking financial assessments for residential and non-residential services, raising invoices, allocating and banking all income received for customer contributions, and for undertaking debt recovery processes to recoup unpaid charges in accordance with Council policies and Government guidance.
About The Role:
We are looking for a full-time Finance Assistant to join us. You will be part of a busy team ensuring that charging for residential and non-residential services and income and debt recovery processes are followed accurately and in a timely manner. The role will also include dealing with any disputes or queries, verbally or in writing, in relation to all areas of work undertaken.
Key Requirements:
As you will be working with a variety of stakeholders, it is important you have strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal. You need to be able to work on your own initiative as well as collaboratively with customers, families, colleagues and other representatives. You will have the ability to work to deadlines, sometimes under pressure, whilst at all times maintaining accuracy, composure and your professional manner. You will be used to interpreting sometimes complex information, following regulations, making decisions and providing consistent and clear explanations to justify decision making and to achieve desired resolutions. Experience using computer systems to input and obtain information is essential as well as experience using, and knowledge of word processing software and spreadsheets.
