This position will play a critical role in our company's procurement strategy and category leadership. Key Responsibilities of the Category Manager As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimising procurement activities across assigned categories, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives. Your key tasks will include: · Identifying and defining short, medium and long term procurement requirements for the procurement category in line with business strategy · Identifying and sourcing suppliers, evaluating responses and selecting suppliers to meet business needs · Lead contract implementation for the category including negotiation, executing and managing contracts · Define KPIs and SLAs for suppliers and monitor and manage performance, defining and managing corrective action improvement plans where required · Identify, agree and implement opportunities for supplier development, working in partnership with suppliers · Analyse performance and spend for region/category identifying cost opportunities and continuous improvements summarising recommendations for presentation and decision making · Keep abreast of global market developments, trends and intel within own category and identify opportunities to maximise business benefits. · Demonstrable success in supporting teams through direct/indirect sourcing strategies and pricing forecasts · To manage significant and complex supplier contracts in line with corporate policies and procedures to drive both value, mitigate risk and compliance for the Company · To develop partnerships with internal stakeholders and business leaders to gain their support and co-operation in the delivery of sourcing projects and the category plan. What we are looking for We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record in category management or a related procurement role. The ideal candidate will possess: A relevant degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a similar field. Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Experience in data-driven decision-making and proficiency with procurement-related software. Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience in managing multiple categories and large spend portfolios is a plus. Demonstrated experience in developing risk mitigation strategies operating in a global environment.
