One of the leading names in the Yorkshire legal community is looking to recruit a senior Corporate lawyer to head up the firm’s Corporate and Commercial offering.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Corporate lawyer to get involved in decision-making at a senior level; in addition to leading the team, it is envisaged that the successfully appointed candidate will, in time, take a position on the firm’s Board.
The Opportunity
As head of the firm’s thriving Corporate and Commercial team, the focus of your work will be Corporate, although having some experience of Commercial would be useful from a team management perspective.
The team has had great success in advising start-up clients from the earliest stage and continuing to advise for the full lifecycle of the business.
The existing Corporate work undertaken by the team is varied and involves: share and asset sales and acquisitions; company restructurings; shareholders agreements; investment in companies; EMI share options; and the provision of corporate governance advice.
You can expect to be advising on domestic and international matters and, generally, to have a focus on owner-managed businesses.
This role is likely to appeal to senior lawyers with experience of – or certainly a keen interest in – technology, which is a strong sector for this firm.
The successful candidate will inherit a strong client base from day one but should also be able to draw upon their own connections and develop their own business on an ongoing basis.
Leading the team, you will also play a key role in future recruitment decisions.
The Culture
You will be joining a friendly, welcoming, and collegiate firm in which there is no long-hours culture.
Great use is made of technology to enhance processes and flexibility. The Corporate and Commercial team is paperless, meaning its team members are able to work between offices and home with ease.
You will be working from offices in Leeds and Harrogate for the majority of the week. The firm also has a presence in York. There are fantastic transport links and you’ll have the benefit of well-appointed offices.
There is a competitive benefits package on offer, including the opportunity to accrue additional paid leave through flexitime.
