We are looking to recruitment an immediately available Assistant Accountant within our Operational Finance team until end of March 2025. The core part of the role will include the monthly invoicing process to recognise our receivables balances from the sales subledger to the general ledger. You’ll also on a daily basis have responsibility over the cash receipting, bank reconciliations and payment allocations, which will dial back as the Bot that is currently finishing testing ahead of go live comes online, shifting focus to then oversight and management of the Bot, and any queries received into the shared mailboxes from stakeholders. You will be responsible for managing and winding down a balance sheet account associated with student deposits ensuring that they are all cleared and correctly accounted for, while maintaining the integrity of the student accounts on the sales subledger. What you’ll bring to the role Have A2 levels or higher in finance/accountancy or business or relevant work experience that demonstrates their passion for the profession. Have the aptitude to learn new concepts and tasks quickly. Have strong Excel skills (working knowledge of pivot tables, sumifs/vlookup/xlookup is essential). Be a clear and confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills so that you can work effectively with colleagues in the finance team. Be a critical thinker, with high attention to detail, a good ability to self-review, and be able to work with accuracy when under pressure. Be capable of working to deadlines and being able to manage your workload effectively when there is time pressure (such as month-end and year-end). Strong organisational skills. A willingness to learn and look for areas to improve on current processes.
