The Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be required to support pupils with additional needs to promote their learning and development in a school setting. Your role will involve providing general classroom support while delivering high-quality interventions in small groups or on a 1:1 basis. You must be able to handle high-pressure situations calmly and professionally while nurturing each pupil's needs. Resilience and the ability to de-escalate challenging behavior are essential. Qualifications such as GCSE or A-Level (or equivalent) are required; relevant qualifications are desirable but not mandatory.
The School:
Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a variety of provisions across Lancashire, including primary, secondary, SEN, and SEMH schools. Class sizes are typically small, with 6-10 pupils per class. All children have an EHC plan and require additional support in their learning and overall development. The school aims to promote independence among its pupils in an environment that celebrates their efforts and achievements. Communication and positive relationships are prioritized, fostering close working relationships with children's families.
Please note, we are an Education Supply agency, and all of our work starts on a temporary basis, with a view to transitioning to a permanent school contract!
Good luck!
