The role
The Data Integration Manager (DIM) is responsible for sourcing and managing third-party data within this project. This project requires the managed throughput of significant quantities of controlled data – primarily technical documentation – to the end-users.
Data requirements for the development of project artefacts, primarily training devices and training courseware, will be identified by either the end-users (who may be within Raytheon UK, or external suppliers) or from the teams managing the prime contract within Raytheon UK.
This data must then be acquired from the provider, which may be UK MOD or one or more of its suppliers. The acquisition of this data may not be straightforward, due to contractual restrictions, visibility of the existence of the materials required, and the challenges of differing levels of maturity of individual elements of data, which will change regularly.
The incumbent must, therefore, understand data management principles (as well as its configuration management), must be able to work in an area of constant change, and be able to build relationships with the organisations supplying the data, as well as internal and down-stream users.
This role is hybrid, 2-3 days per week onsite, with the remaining time working from home but the role holder must be prepared to travel to support internal and customer meetings.
Main duties will include:
* Act as the project’s subject matter expert and point of contact on the acquisition of third-party/OEM data to support project requirements.
* Ensure systems are in place to demand and manage the acquisition of data ahead of its use, including checks of accuracy and consistency.
* Form good working relationships with the suppliers of third-party data (the UK MOD and its contractors) to enable the most efficient possible acquisition of data.
* Work closely with the Training Equipment Manager to ensure that all external data requirements of training device teams, both current and future, are met.
* Work closely with the Head of Courseware and Media Development to ensure that all external data requirements of the courseware development team, both current and future, are met.
* Work closely with the Configuration Management team to ensure that existing Raytheon UK and Project Delta data processes are adhered to.
* Work closely with the project Security representatives (physical and electronic) to ensure compliance with existing regulations on handling and storage of protected materials.
* Work closely with Raytheon’s Digital Technology function to ensure that storage and retrieval systems are optimised.
* Provide regular reporting against developed metrics to ensure that the correct data is reaching the end-users in the time required.
* Actively manage data in use to ensure awareness of any subsequent up-issues by the originators such that the project is fully aware of new or imminent versions.
* Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and compliance.
Minimum Requirements:
* Experience in managing data and documentation in large quantities and in a dynamic environment.
* Proficiency in data management tools and software, including a high level of expertise with MS Excel.
* Experience in working with stakeholders to identify data required, and with suppliers of data to ensure compliant and timely access.
* Ability to quickly form effective working relationships with all stakeholders required.
* Configuration management processes and systems.
* Possess, or be capable of obtaining, Security Clearance.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Should have some experience or knowledge of:
* Managing data with protective markings or other special handling restrictions.
* The principles of Systems Engineering.
