What you will do: An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the University Hospital Ayr Dietetic & Speech and Language Therapists in the development of an innovative new joint providing assistance to registered team members in the Combined Assessment Unit and Emergency Department, Frailty Unit and Active Ward. The AHP team includes Dietitians, Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. The post holder would work alongside the OT/PT postholders. This new post will collaborate with experienced clinicians and health care professionals to have a meaningful impact on care. The post will support discharge, continue treatment plans of patients and potentially initiate treatments within specified parameters and contribute to training. You may also be involved in the ordering, stock management and internal administrative processes which contribute to the work of the AHPs in the designated areas. Once you have had the relevant support and training you will have responsibility for the day to day management of your own delegated caseload. By operating a partly shared team caseload we are able to offer excellent opportunities for practice supervision and shadowing in a wide range of clinical areas. For further information on the role please click the link below to view the job description Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job: We are looking for a self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills, relevant qualifications and experience of working in a social care setting or with healthcare, desirably related to nutritional care and/or communication/swallowing difficulties. You should also have experience of working as part of a Multidisciplinary Team. We will provide access to training and support you to undertake the role. You should be passionate about empowering their patients to achieve their goals. You should possess a formal qualification at HND/SVQ Level 4 or equivalent level of experience in a health and/or the social care environment demonstrating any relevant CPD undertaken. Experience and confidence using electronic systems eg Micrososft Word. Evidence of competencies and skills required to deliver this post is essential e.g. excellent time management, great interpersonal/communication skills, organisational skills, self-motivation and ability to work as part of a team.
