What you’ll be doing:
* Being part of theSafety and Environmental Hub organisation to support the QEC, T45,T23, Hunt and OPVplatforms
Supporting the WTA safety leads with the managementof in-service Hazards and Risks, production of Safety &Environmental Safety Case Reports, Naval Authority key hazardsubmission and other Safety and Environmental documentation tosupport thePlatforms Ensuring Royal Naval (RN) Platform compliance withMinistry of Defence, UK and International Legislation Preparing and chairing Safety meetings, attendingDesign Reviews, Hazard Identification / Risk AssessmentWorkshops Keeping up to date with Safety & Environmentallegislation and advise colleagues, stakeholders (and whereappropriate the business), of compliancerequirements Reviewing and responding to any safety relatedengineering queries raised as a result of capability insertion andmaintenance engineeringactivities
Your skillsand experiences:
* HNC in an EngineeringSubject or demonstrable experience within an Engineeringsector
Engineering, Naval, industry or maritimebackground, or have achieved an equivalent level of competencethrough work-basedexperience Suitable for early careers Engineers and those withengineering experience seeking a newchallenge Suitable training will be provided to candidatesfor them to fulfil the role

The Product Safety team: As the Product Safety Engineer, you’ll be a memberof a hub of Safety Engineers, managed by the Warship Support SafetyEngineering Lead to support diverse safety engineering tasks asrequired by the respective WTA Class Safety Leads. The classes ofship include Aircraft Carriers, T45 Destroyers, T23 Frigates, HuntClass Mine Countermeasure Vessels and B1 Patrol Vessels. This is an exciting and varied role liaising withproject and engineering teams within BAE and the MoD, acrossvarious managerial levels, for a multitude of safety andEnvironmental tasks. There will be a requirement to conduct shipvisits, and occasional travel and the role is an opportunity toexpand and vary engineering experience. Why BAE Systems?
