We are looking for an energetic and motivated full-time Cluster Finance Manager to join the team at Mercure Holland House, based in Bristol and supporting another hotel in London.
ABOUT THE JOB
You will oversee financial operations for our hotel Mercure Holland House Bristol along with another property in London. Working directly with both the hotel management teams, Group Finance Director, and The Hotel Owners. This role will involve heading up and supporting the financial reporting and controls of the hotel businesses. This is very much a high visibility, proactive, commercial/operational finance role requiring a confident, collaborative approach as well as the ability to challenge the norm. As Cluster Finance Manager, you will have responsibility for all accounting records, controls, and management information. With excellent commercial acumen, you will oversee the production of forecasts whilst ensuring that the hotels achieve their financial targets.
JOB PURPOSE
To provide a commercially focused, high-quality financial service and a strong internal control environment for the business while ensuring each hotel complies with customer service and statutory requirements.
* Prepare and oversee the production of complete, reliable, and timely financial statements (primarily P&L but supporting finance colleagues with balance sheet and cash flow schedules and reports) or actuals, forecasts, and budgets.
* You will need to demonstrate a thorough and practical understanding of P&L Reporting as well as the separate companies' Balance Sheets and Bank Reporting requirements.
* Identify opportunities for the business to exceed the profitability targets for each hotel, whilst ensuring financial statements are prudently prepared.
* Ensure that there is an effective culture of strong internal controls within each and adherence to the policies contained in the Financial Policy and Procedures Manual and instructions issued over time.
* To support and develop the financial awareness of colleagues in hotels and in the Centre.
* Actively manage and contribute to payroll controls throughout the region to ensure month-on-month improvement and efficiency.
