Due to an internal promotion, our client, a leading international manufacturing business with sites both in the UK and overseas, has an exciting new job opportunity for a Group Financial Controller to join their business.
Your new role
This is a pivotal role in the business, managing the finance team in Livingston while also working collaboratively with the overseas Financial Controllers and supporting the Group CFO.
A key aspect of the role is providing analysis to the Business MDs, Group CEO
The role will take full responsibility for overseeing the UK companies and also managing group reporting, financial controls, optimising systems (ERP) and providing financial analysis.
Responsibilities will be varied and include:
* Managing a team of 2 staff while also closely overseeing the wider UK finance team who are based in the same office
* Closely liaising with the other overseas Financial Controllers
* Leading the consolidation process and monthly finance board report pack
* Developing and producing weekly & monthly KPIs
* Responsible for UK VAT and UK corporation tax returns
* Manage group treasury and cash management
* Improve and manage the budgeting & forecasting processes
* Responsible for the coordination of the annual external group audit
* Responsible for UK statutory accounts preparation, with external auditors
* Responsible for monthly and ad hoc analyses of operations, sales and margins.
* Enhance the Group's financial reporting systems, processes and internal controls across all UK and European sites
What you'll need to succeed
The preferred candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with manufacturing sector experience or complex services and experience of accounting associated with these areas (eg productivity KPIs, BOMs) and will possess experience in a group role requiring consolidation of UK and overseas subsidiaries and producing robust monthly board reporting.
Furthermore, you will be an ambitious self-starter with strong people skills capable of influencing with impact and be able to work collaboratively across borders with senior leaders in the business.
