The role
As an Assistant Naval Architect, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This is a highly prestigious position within our marine sector covering in-service support and complex shipbuilding programmes. This role will provide you with the opportunity to deliver naval architecture solutions within an exciting, interesting team environment. Each week will provide you with new challenges that will develop your skills and knowledge.
Day-to-day, you'll have the following responsibilities:
* Develop into the role of a Naval Architect
* Support Naval Architect team delivery for customer.
* Develop and enhance academic understanding.
* Undertake tasks supported by Naval Architects
* Gain experience in Naval architecture.
This role is full time and is a hybrid role with a mixture of working onsite at Devonport and working from home.
Essential experience of the Assistant Naval Architect:
* Experience in the marine industry.
* Experience with appropriate analytical software such as stability software (Paramarine, NAPA, FORAN, Maxsurf), FEA, CFD and/or CAD.
Qualifications for the Assistant Naval Architect:
* Either Degree qualified or HND/HNC level qualification in an engineering discipline with experience in relevant field.
* Ideally you will be a member of a relevant institution (e.g. RINA, IET, IMechE, IMarEst etc.) and working towards Incorporated or Chartered status.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
