We have an exciting opportunity for a Family Safeguarding Recovery Coordinator who has the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs.
Where: Southampton
Full-Time Hours: 37.5 per week
Full-Time Salary Range: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35 (pro rata for part time hours)
Contract: Fixed-Term contract that ends on the 31st March 2026
About the role
* Work closely with local Children’s Resource Service Teams and Change Grow Live’s Drug and Alcohol team to support families to access relevant support.
* Provide specialist and generic interventions via 121 or groups. Groups will include; Foundations of Recovery, practical parenting advice; support groups; social groups; women’s groups; father’s groups; therapeutic groups and mutual aid.
* Work with families to help develop their life skills, this may include budgeting; managing finances; cookery; parenting; accessing numeracy and literacy classes; supporting access into education/employment.
* Work closely with your service’s Safeguarding Lead, to ensure all issues and concerns are escalated and dealt with quickly and effectively.
* Complete Home Visits, drug testing and complete Parenting Needs Assessments.
* Prepare written reports for and attend Child Protection conferences and Core group meetings.
About you
* Experience of working with families with complex problems in one or more of the following fields: social work; youth offending; substance misuse; probation; health; family work; education; youth and community.
* Ability to manage behaviors of distress in a calm and professional manner.
* Knowledge of current legislation surrounding young people, families and safeguarding practice. Eg - the Adfam and Think Family reports.
* Sound working knowledge of Child Protection.
* Sensitivity in working with complex and diverse cultural family issues.
* Sound working knowledge of the impact of hidden harm, honor based violence, child sexual exploitation and FGM.
