Are you passionate about making a real difference in young families’ lives? We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to join our team in Oxford, dedicated to assisting young parents in independent living environments.
In this role, you’ll provide essential support to a caseload of young parents, helping them build crucial life skills to manage their households. Your responsibilities will include assisting with budgeting, addressing rent arrears and debts, tackling social isolation, and ensuring access to necessities like food and utilities. The goal is to empower young parents to gain confidence and independence, helping to build a secure future for themselves and their children.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with people from various backgrounds. Many of the parents you support may have experienced challenges such as homelessness, mental health issues, substance misuse, or complex personal histories.
Experience or knowledge of housing and welfare benefits systems, mental health, and support for young families would be highly beneficial.
