We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Plating Technician within our growing Plating Team. In a nutshell you will be responsible for: We're seeking a skilled Plating Technician to join our team and play a vital role in our electroplating process. You'll be responsible for operating and maintaining electroplating equipment to apply a variety of finishes to metal components, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to strict specifications. What you are already great at: Monitoring and recording chemical process parameters. Recognising, remedying or reporting variations on process parameters. Investigate causes of variation and implement corrective action plans to prevent recurrence. Producing and maintaining work instruction sheets for all processes and operations. Conducting regular plant process and procedure audits. Carrying out routine plant maintenance as required. Analysing of line chemistry and make additions /adjustments as required. Monitoring and report internal scrap rates. Recognising, rectifying, or reporting any trends in rejects and other quality issues. Developing quality plans for the plating and inspection of parts and carry out visual and performance checks as required. Undertaking laboratory analysis as required. Liaising with external suppliers regarding maintenance, repair, and improvement plans. Liaising with others as required and assist as necessary in resolving any quality or production issues. Conducting quality control inspections of plated components, verifying adherence to thickness, adhesion, and surface finish specifications. Maintaining accurate records of plating processes and bath chemistry data, ensuring consistent quality control and adherence to environmental regulations. Preparing brass components for plating by cleaning, degreasing, and activating surfaces according to established procedures. This may involve using various cleaning solutions, blasting techniques, or other methods. Recognising and report failings in skills, equipment, or procedures. Disposing of plating solutions and waste materials safely and in accordance with environmental regulations. This may involve following specific procedures for handling hazardous materials. Maintaining good communications and relationships throughout the company. Ensuring compliance with company procedures and make suggestions for improvement. Maintaining a clean, safe working environment and good housekeeping standards. Flexibility as might be needed to cover holidays and sometimes work Saturday mornings for maintenance support. Monitoring the ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant) to ensure adherence to the waterboard and environmental limits. Monitoring plant daily water usage and discharge volume. Conduct regular chemical inventory. For this role we would need you to demonstrate: Experience in electroplating (a plus). Understanding of electroplating principles, including bath chemistry, electrical conductivity, and metal deposition processes (preferred, but willingness to learn is a plus). Ability to follow detailed instructions and work precisely to meet tight quality standards. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality control. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A commitment to safety and environmental regulations.
