The role will involve overseeing the procurement and supply chain for a highly reputable company. Based in Bathgate, it strives for excellence in all its operations. Description Oversee and manage the procurement process, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors. Ensure the timely delivery of materials and resources in line with project schedules. Monitor market trends to identify potential new suppliers and products. Implement and maintain procurement strategies to optimise supply chain processes. Collaborate with internal teams to forecast supply and demand. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies. Manage and resolve any supply chain issues that arise. Reviewing purchase requirements to ensure that sufficient information is available to proceed and that the required delivery date is defined and agreed with the project. Liaising effectively with project/ops teams and fostering relationships internally and with suppliers and clients Routinely multitasking and tracking PO's and commodities across multiple projects, clients, work streams and stakeholders. Providing details of risk and suggest mitigations associated with schedule slippages. Providing accurate updates and reports to key internal stakeholders in support of Project plans and activities. Profile A successful Materials Buyer should have: A degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Economics, Logistics, or related field. Proven experience in a similar role within the Engineering, Manufacturing and Energy & Natural Resources sector. Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness. Excellent organisational and project management skills. The ability to work effectively as part of a team. Strong analytical skills and the ability to make informed decisions. Proficiency in relevant software and technologies. Strong IT experience in MS packages and ERP/MRP systems Job Offer A competitive salary, ranging from £35,000 to £45,000.
