JOB PURPOSE
* Maintain Medical Devices & Systems to the highest levels of performance, quality and integrity aligned to HPL requirements.
* Participate in Planned Maintenance Programme (PPM) across the EME portfolio, delivering the programme of PPM services.
* Responsibility for delivery of EME service provision.
* Bring a broad technical understanding and specialism supporting the wider EME team.
JOB SUMMARY
To be responsible for the servicing and maintenance of a range of Medical equipment throughout RSCH and with external clients that HPL are contacted to support.
Provide input to the development and maintenance of a long-term strategy and road map for Medical Devices, including replacement of older legacy devices with current and future technologies.
The role calls for someone from an Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering background, and as such the post holder will require knowledge across the range of technologies and services that fall under the responsibility of this post.
The role will frequently require the post holder to engage with infrastructure and business projects and the adoption of new technologies in line with business requirements.
KEY RESULT AREAS/MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Proactive monitoring to ensure maximum uptime, reporting any downtime in a timely manner to the EME Manager.
* Engagement with third-party vendors, including participation in service reviews, billing review, and escalation of issues where appropriate.
* Provide and receive complex information from third-parties in the ongoing maintenance of a range of Medical Devices and disseminate to other team members.
* Act as technical lead for the delivery of a range of Medical Device technologies.
* Work with other teams to improve service delivery to the end user through a collaborative and structured approach to problem resolution.
* The post holder will be expected to plan and carry out their own daily tasks and workload as well as allocation of workload to other staff members.
* To be involved in the ongoing development and documentation of processes and procedures in line with the trusts’ corporate policy, objectives and goals.
* Identify and escalate perceived risks to EME Manager where appropriate, managing and alleviating risk and where possible resolving the risk.
* To communicate specialist information with colleagues pertaining to your speciality.
* From time to time you may be expected to lift heavy equipment (training will be provided).
* The post holder will need to concentrate on accurate testing and input information to equipment during any calibration procedures.
* The post holder is subject to HPL working conditions within the RSCH facility, which may include soiled and dirty equipment.
* Security role – controlling both local resource and access rights.
* Documentation of processes for use across EME departments by both technical and non-technical personnel.
* To keep records of all work carried out on any piece of equipment that has been repaired or serviced by yourself.
* The post holder must carry out equipment testing on any piece of equipment which has been repaired or which has entered the trust either on a loan or purchased basis.
* The post holder will participate in and provide service training to other staff members on the specialty equipment that you are responsible for.
* The post holder must ensure that all policies are implemented and also to recommend any changes in the work area.
* Due to the nature of work, fine tools are often used; therefore, the post holder will be expected to utilise fine tools including microscope use.
* Provide guidance and technical training to junior members of the EME team.
