Job Description: This role, based in Elemental Energies’ main offices in Westhill, Aberdeen, will be part of the companies Wells Function. The role will assist Drilling Engineers (DE’s) and Senior Drilling Engineers (SDE’s) with input to and performance of well design activities in relation to studies, activity programs and detailed operational procedures. When offshore, the role will assist the Drilling Supervisors with operational calculations, personnel planning and logistics activities. The aim after the 18 months graduate programme is that the candidates can work independently as Drilling Engineers in our teams. The role will report to the Well Engineering Manager organizationally and to the Project Manager/ Drilling Superintendent when working on a project. Areas of Responsibility: Assist DE’s and SDE’s with engineering studies for our clients. Assist DE’s and SDE’s with liaising with 3rd party suppliers during well planning. Recommend adoption of new technology if value adding. Conduct offset well studies when planning a new well. Assist in preparation of the well design documents during the planning phase. Assist in preparation of time estimates and Authorization for Expenditures (AFE). Assist in preparation of detailed operational procedures. Use of existing software to carry out well design tasks. Assist with developing equipment lists and call-off equipment required for the operation. Assist with End of Well/Project reporting. Qualifications: M.Eng. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar. Proficient in digital technologies. Willingness to go offshore during operations. Sound understanding of risk and its incorporation in the planning process. Must have permanent unlimited right to work in United Kingdom. Personal Skills: Candidates that are team oriented, collaborative and have good communication and social skills will be preferred.
