In this role, you will provide effective and timely technical support to apprentices within the Wessex Water Academy in line with regulatory expectations detailed in apprenticeship standards and the wider Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education quality guidance.
We can provide training and support to work towards assessor qualifications.
What you'll do
You will:
* Design and deliver engaging technical knowledge sessions to apprentices, ensuring they gain the skills required for their role.
* Monitor and track apprentice progress, providing regular updates to apprentices and relevant stakeholders.
* Carry out regular check-ins with apprentices and their managers to discuss progress, challenges, and development areas.
* Observe apprentices in practice to assess practical skills and competencies in line with apprenticeship standards.
* Undertake initial assessments to determine the starting point of each apprentice, ensuring appropriate support and learning plans are created.
* Provide constructive feedback to apprentices on their performance and development, guiding them towards successful outcomes.
* Undertake regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills in coaching, assessment, and the relevant vocational areas.
* Attend team and training meetings to collaborate, share best practices, and contribute to the development of apprenticeship programmes.
* Ensure compliance with ESFA (Education and Skills Funding Agency), Ofsted, and other regulatory requirements in relation to apprenticeship programmes.
* Provide support and guidance to apprentices, helping them overcome any challenges they may face during their apprenticeship.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of apprentice progress, attendance, and achievements.
What you'll need
You will be/have:
* A minimum of five years' experience in the Sewerage workstream.
* Awareness of safeguarding.
* Effective planning and prioritisation skills.
* Confident, credible, and engaging communication skills.
* Experience providing feedback in an informal and formal setting.
* Proactive, driven, and ability to work on own initiative.
* Innovation with the passion for driving change.
* Customer focused.
* Effective influencing skills and encouraging people to develop.
