Working hours – Monday to Friday 9am until 5pm with 30 minute lunchbreak, with opportunities for flexible working arrangements by agreement
Salary - £13.00 per hour with annual wage reviews
Holidays –20 per annum increasing annually to a maximum of 25 per annum plus bank holidays and full Christmas break added extra
Role:
Having a passion for helping people is a crucial part of day to day life as a Mediation Administrator. You will therefore need to be a good communicator that can be empathetic, caring and patient with people from all backgrounds. We are none judgmental in our role and you will need to have the ability to think on your feet and deal with sometimes angry and emotional clients but also some very kind and grateful clients as well.
You will provide direct help and support to the Mediators, to the team of Administrators and to the clients to enable Family Mediation Centre Staffordshire to operate at optimum efficiency. Working in a small, fast paced office of five Administrators and 10 Mediators who work remotely and in person.
You will be able to listen, empathise, help and support each client through the mediation process. To explain fully and clearly, the process, the benefits of using mediation, the costs and the funding available (full training will be provided in this area). Having a desire to go over and above in order to help people, is part of what the team of administrators and mediators strive to do and this is in the true spirit of mediation.
All Administrators are expected to use a high degree of self-management and initiative and be able to work under pressure and to be able to prioritise and manage their own workload and above all be a good team player.
Qualifications & Experience:
Previous experience in administration or working in a busy professional office essential.
Experience of dealing with difficult and emotional clients and being able to have the skills to listen, empathise and be professional at all times is an essential part of this role.
Experience of processing confidential information advantageous
Use of Word, Excel, Outlook, essential.
A high standard of interpersonal and communication skills essential in the context of client care and confidentiality.
A confident telephone manner, essential
Touch typing skills or high speed typing essential
Main Responsibilities:
To answer and process a large number of calls and to take down information regarding new referrals quickly, efficiently and professionally. You will be under pressure in this role and being able to prioritise and have good self-management is essential to keep on top.
At all times to exercise high standards of client care in a professional and pleasant manner.
You will need to be a good team player and be able to work closely with other members of staff in a close working environment.
Explaining the mediation process, assessing clients for legal aid and fully promoting mediation to all clients at all times.
Preparing letters, emails and correspondence and being able to check your work is correct before sending is of upmost importance.
To ensure confidentiality and security of all company and client documentation and information.
To arrange client appointments and to manage and maintain multiple electronic diaries through outlook.
