Summary of the main purpose of the job:
As a key member of the Ibstock Group Procurement team, you will proactively manage your Portfolio Categories across 36+ sites throughout the UK. With a key focus on cost reduction and achieving true bottom line savings, you will also need to ensure continuity of supply/service and proactive management of associated risks. This role is primarily focused on In-direct supply reporting into the Category Manager In-directs, but with scope to gain experience on Directs in the future.
Using your expertise in procurement, you’ll manage internal and external relationships, ensuring a high standard of service is delivered, partnering with the different business areas and understanding their current tactical and future strategic procurement needs. Although we have and are in the process of implementing some excellent digital solutions within procurement and the wider business, we would welcome candidates who can bring working knowledge of further Etools and who are keen to be part of this transformation.
You’ll develop and implement sourcing plans focusing on cost, quality and sustainability with an aim of creating partnerships with our key suppliers.
Key responsibilities:
1. Developing appropriate sourcing strategies based on detailed knowledge of the market gained through comprehensive internal and external data collection and evaluation.
2. Preparation and presentation to senior stakeholders of recommended sourcing strategies and the benefits and implementation plans.
3. Developing and working with cross functional groups in the implementation of sourcing strategies.
4. Accurate measurement of benefits achieved.
5. Negotiations with and management of suppliers in specified categories including the resolution of issues that may arise.
6. Contract compliance reporting in conjunction with Procurement Manager/monitoring and working in conjunction with end users and suppliers.
7. Collaboration with other Ibstock Group companies both within their assigned categories and on projects as identified.
8. Liaise with sites to encourage good purchasing practice and to ensure that sites take advantage of value adding opportunities such as consignment stocking and EOQ.
9. Provide support to Factory and Departmental Managers as appropriate, looking for opportunities in areas of spend where procurement have yet to develop.
10. Assisting purchasing Manager in the completion of Supplier Improvement Audits at sites.
11. Maintain, update and distribute Purchasing Advice documents and deal Summaries for designated categories.
12. Monitor and manage the supplier code of business conduct programme.
13. Ensure the value of the procurement function is clear to the business and internal stakeholders.
14. Contribute to a positive working environment within the procurement function.
