We have some exciting opportunities working on the Birth Suite, at Warrington & Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, (Warrington Site).
Birth Suite is a busy, fast paced labour ward which caters for approximately 2500 births per year.
Applicants should have excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritise own workload, and work well as part of a team. Strong IT skills are essential for this role.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as a Ward Clerk. In this role, you will provide a full and accurate administrative service, including a comprehensive reception service, ensuring the smooth operation of our unit. The role requires impeccable interpersonal skills as you will regularly communicate with relatives and healthcare professionals, ensuring important and confidential information is passed on accurately and promptly to the appropriate staff.
Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will handle telephone enquiries, redirect calls, and respond to queries from patients, staff, and external agencies, always ensuring confidentiality is maintained. You will also support the team with general administrative tasks such as photocopying, filing, distributing mail, and maintaining departmental records in line with Trust policies.
A key part of the role involves tracking and completing daily tasks such as E-Discharges, E-Outcomes, and clinic session bookings, as well as managing secure archiving and disposal of documentation. You will liaise with the Estates Department to arrange repairs and contribute to the smooth running of the department by ensuring that all operational requirements are met efficiently.
