PASTORAL SUPPORT MANAGER
Full-time, term-time only plus one week (40 weeks per year).
Hours: 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Salary: Between £25,631.74 (£29,190 FTE) to £26,345.63 (£30,003 FTE) per annum. Progression is on an annual increment scale to £27,858.60 (£31,726 FTE) per annum.
The College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking, and empathetic Pastoral Support Manager to join our highly experienced pastoral team. The post holder will work closely with the Pastoral Directors, Senior Tutors, and Student Services staff to provide direct support to students with their pastoral and well-being needs.
A high level of emotional intelligence is essential, along with effective organisational and communication skills. The post holder will have direct responsibility for an allocated number of Tutor Groups, Tutors, and Tutees. They will be expected to deal with sensitive and challenging personal student situations as a fundamental part of the role.
The post is available immediately on a permanent basis (87.81%). The post holder will be required to work term-time only, plus one additional week in college holidays (usually the periods covering GCSE and A Level results) from 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday (with 45 minutes unpaid lunch break). The additional week will be agreed with the Line Manager subject to the needs of the College and may be utilised throughout the year as individual days.
Our ideal person will have experience of providing pastoral care within an education setting or to 16–19-year-olds. The post holder must be willing to undertake practical First Aid and Mental Health First Aid qualifications.
