Job Description The Children’s Homes provides a loving home for a group of up to 4 young people, usually aged between 11 – 18 years. Our trauma informed approach affords young people the opportunity to experience a high level of care in an understanding and non-judgmental environment. As part of our team, you would: – Provide a relational, warm, and understanding approach to our young people and families. – Demonstrate core values in line with ‘The Promise’ whilst advocating for the rights of our young people. – Embrace our nurturing approach to the individual needs of our young people in line with Dan Hughes ‘Dyadic Developmental Practice’. – Work within a friendly, caring, forward thinking, fun and enthusiastic team. – Work within current legislation, policies, and procedures of Aberdeenshire Council through working in partnership with other professionals and agencies. – Evidence a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation. The role consists of 7 week rolling rota, which includes a 24.5 -hour shift pattern, with sleep-ins built in. The successful candidate will work shifts that are mainly 24 hours in length. The late shift start at 2pm with a sleep-over from 11pm to 7am and the early shift is from 7am to 2.30pm. Essential car user. There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation. Requirements This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, anOverseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory. This post has a minimum requirement of two references, one of these must be your current or most recent employer.
