An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our committed and dynamic staff team at Balbardie PS as Principal Teacher. We are a non-denominational primary school serving the town of Bathgate and are proud to celebrate our 120th anniversary this year.
Balbardie PS and Bathgate Early Years Centre are part of the Bathgate Academy cluster of schools. We collaborate with colleagues across all 6 schools to deliver a diverse and inclusive learning experience. Our school roll is currently 346 learners across 14 mainstream classes and 3 specialist resource classes. The Bathgate Early Years Centre, an integral part of our school community, has a roll of 130.
In addition to an enthusiastic team of class teachers, we have 7 Pupil Support Workers and 6 Advanced Pupil Support Workers who support learning for groups and individuals at all stages of the school. Balbardie PS has a strong reputation within the community and is well supported by an active Parent Council and wider parent forum. Distributed leadership is promoted across the whole staff team, and collegiate approaches enhance a positive climate for learning throughout the school.
A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland is essential.
