SEN Class Teacher Required in Kent, Gravesend - Long Term - SLD, PMLD & Complex Needs
Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for a SEN Class Teacher to join an SEN School in Kent, Gravesend, specializing in children with SLD, PMLD, and Additional Complex Needs including Autism.
Daily Rate: Paid to scale
Location: Kent, Gravesend
Contract Type: Full Time, Long Term
Start Date: January 2025
The successful applicants will have:
1. QTS or equivalent
2. Previous experience working with Learning Disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Complex Needs, and/or Physical/Mental/Sensory Impairments
3. Strong behaviour management skills
4. Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and parents/carers
5. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate
The role will consist of:
1. Teaching to a class of varying needs including varied types of communication (non-verbal & Physical) - semi-formal curriculum
2. Working closely with students, their parents/carers, and other members of staff to ensure that the students are happy and learning well
3. Adapting the syllabus according to the individual students' EHCP
4. Making appropriate use of a range of monitoring and assessment strategies to evaluate pupils' progress
