The School of Arts & Creative Industries are looking for an individual with a good honours degree and higher degree in a relevant discipline, plus significant practical experience, to provide learning, teaching, and assessment within the academic discipline of Interior Design. You will also be required to undertake research/scholarly activity and/or consultancy and where necessary establish and maintain effective liaison with external organisations.
You must be able to demonstrate experience of contributing to curriculum design and development and be willing to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Excellent theoretic understanding of interior design industries is essential as is an understanding of current and emerging platforms and practice and social, political and economic movements and culture within the field.
With an internationally renowned Gallery as the driving force, at the heart of the School, MIMA School of Arts & Creative Industries offers students a professional, sector located learning experience defined by a real world, interdisciplinary approach. MIMA School of Arts & Creative Industries is at a significant moment, established in 2019, the School builds on 50 years of Art and Design Education at Teesside University.
This post is available as an Academic Contract (PhD essential) to contribute to the School’s growing research activity alongside teaching, OR as Teaching, Scholarship and Professional Practice (TSPP) contract designed to enable staff to focus their work on industry engagement alongside teaching.

The position we are filling is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and a satisfactory DBS disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service is required as part of our clearance procedures.
