About the Role
Reporting to the Night Managers on Duty, you’ll need a professional attitude and a passion for customer service that’s vital for success in this role, as well as time management and sound problem-solving skills.
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
* Broadening your skill set by integrating the responsibilities of a night porter and night auditor. You will have the opportunity to enhance your capabilities by seamlessly handling guest services and financial reconciliation.
* Welcoming guests with a warm and friendly arrival, ensuring a positive first impression.
* Assisting guests with check-ins and check-outs, ensuring a seamless process and addressing any inquiries they may have.
* Handling guests' requests and room service orders promptly and efficiently.
* Managing challenging situations calmly and professionally, providing exceptional customer service at all times.
* Performing night audit procedures to reconcile daily transactions and ensure accuracy in financial records.
* Verifying and balancing revenue and expenses, ensuring all charges and payments are correctly recorded.
* Identifying any discrepancies that exist between revenue and payments.
* Proficiency in using hotel management software and computer skills.
* Carrying out portering duties when required, overseeing the handling of luggage and ensuring guests’ belongings are transported safely and accurately.
* Performing other duties as directed by the Night Manager to support overall operations.
Skills and Experience:
* Previous experience in a front office role within a hotel or resort preferred; however, full training will be provided for the right candidate.
* Confidence in dealing with guest queries & requests.
* Professional interpersonal & communication skills.
* Ability to work within a diverse and fast-paced role, often managing multiple tasks and sometimes under pressure.
* Team player, with a natural flair for guest experience.
* Experience with Opera PMS will be highly regarded.
* Experience with Microsoft programs including but not limited to - Word & Excel.
* High level of professionalism whilst on duty.
* Availability to work a flexible roster across 7 days including late nights & Public Holidays, able to work between the hours of 11:00 pm – 7:00 am.
* Required to undergo a Police Check.
* Must have the legal right to work in Australia as no sponsorships will be offered.
