Bareshaft Senior Project Engineer Location: Renfrew, Scotland, United Kingdom, PA4 8XJ Company: Chart Industries The Opportunity Available as a result of an internal promotion, the Senior Project Engineer is a key role responsible for managing special compressor projects from sales handover to final payment, ensuring they meet budget, quality, and delivery targets. You will serve as the customer's main point of contact, fostering strong relationships while managing project risks, schedules, and financials. With a focus on process improvement, you'll lead initiatives to enhance project management methodologies within the team. The role offers flexibility with hybrid working and occasional international travel, supporting both customer and supplier engagements. What will you do - Ensure adherence to company environmental, health, and safety standards in compliance with companypolicies to ensure a safe working environment and the minimisation of environmental impact. - Manage special bare shaft projects from handover to completion of delivery and receipt of final payment. - Interact with the sales managers to support timely, accurate and fully detailed handovers of new projects. - Book projects in the MRP system ensuring accurate forecasting of deliveries and invoicing. - Create Project Datasheet which accurately captures all project requirements. - Load projects into the document control system ensuring appropriate document requirement dates arespecified. Ensure documentation schedule remains on time. - Work with Project Coordinator to manage project schedule, specifically managing any deviation from thebaseline by establishing priorities and driving recovery to baseline. - Liaise with Operations team to ensure projects are prioritised in line with Business needs and that each phase - ranging from material receipts through to machining, assembly and test remains on track. - Collaborate closely to identify risk and delays, developing recovery plans as needed, to mitigate potentialimpacts on project timelines - Regularly report on full project status both internally and externally. - Understand and manage project budget and accurately forecast costs and cashflow. Quickly identify andmanage deviation from budget. Drive margin growth. - Identify and manage change resulting from variation in customer requirements. - Ensure accurate forecasting and timely issue of invoicing, monitor and manage receipt of payment. - Lead the review, improvement and updating of bare shaft project management processes in line withproject management methodologies and capture in Business Management System. - Support the training, continuous development and tracking of knowledge and skills within the Bareshaftprojects team. - Deputise for the General Manager - Projects Bare Shaft as needed. - Coordinate workload within the team of Project Coordinators and Project Engineers What do you bring Essential skills, knowledge & behaviours - Prior experience of managing projects or close involvement in management of projects in a manufacturingenvironment. - Commercial acumen / experience in dealing with customers and contracts. - Confidence and experience to pro-actively solve problems, think laterally and identify corrective actions. - Examples of leadership, negotiation, ability to influence and inter-personal skills - internal and customerfacing. - Experience of successfully driving to meet required time, cost and quality baseline. - Ability to work independently and at pace. - Confidence and experience to pro-actively lead issue resolution. - Computer literacy in Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project or equivalent scheduling software. - Excellent Time Management Skills - Excellent Communications skills (Written and Oral) Desirable skills, knowledge & behaviours - Knowledge of compressors or other rotating machinery. - Knowledge of Petrochemical, Oil and Gas, Refrigeration, Heat Pump, Biogas and Vapour Recovery.
