The Role
We’re looking for a highly skilled creative to lead our in-house creative and design studio as part of the UK and EU Marketing Team. This role will report into the UK and EU Marketing Director, from our London office in Victoria.
As the Head of Art, you will be responsible for leading the creative vision of all our marketing and shop touchpoints, and leading a skilled team of Creative designers in execution across a mixture of briefs.
You’ll be responsible for bringing together all our customer touchpoints and leading on our campaign execution across UK and EU marketing, melding our brand messaging with our commercial priorities to create beautiful and impactful execution across our shops and marketing.
The role requires the ability to multi-task and work on a number of briefs at any one time, leading a team to execute across a multitude of different briefs from our shops in Paris to our campaign touchpoints in London. This role requires both strong creative leadership experience, but also the ability to get involved in the detail of rolling out our campaigns to support the team.
This role is a unique opportunity to be the UK and EU creative lead for Pret, helping shape our creative and campaign execution going forward.
What will I be doing?
* Leading the UK and EU in-house studio to create thoughtful creative execution across shop and campaign touchpoints.
* Leading the campaign execution of all creative concepts across our UK and EU markets – from concept to execution.
* Leading the creative execution for all marketing campaigns, taking input from across the team to craft thoughtfully created campaigns to encompass both brand sentiment and commercial positioning.
* Manage the comprehensive UK campaign calendar working with Heads of Marketing and commercial and food leads to drive concepts and execution with strong brand campaigns with commercial value.
* Brief and manage the Creative team, ensuring the creative process fulfills the requirements of every brief.
* Balance the commercial vs. creative requirements for asset creation, ensuring clear commercial and customer needs are met through the execution of campaigns.
* Present design concepts and progress to stakeholders, incorporating feedback to refine and optimize designs.
* Ensure output from the creative team is of the highest standard and delivers the required impact.
* Lead art direction and photoshoot briefings for all campaign concepts.
* Work with the Chief Customer and Product Officer to ensure UK and EU execution is aligned to the overall brand positioning and strategy.
* Act as UK and EU creative brand guardian with a strong understanding of our VBI and how to leverage against business briefs and need states.
* Implement and maintain brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all creative outputs.
Skills and experience
* Extensive experience across creative and design roles with experience in creative design, either client or agency side.
* Ability to work across diverse disciplines; we require someone who has a wide-spanning design skill set from graphic design to motion.
* Ability to begin the creative process with scamps and drawings.
* Ability to lead work through business and demonstrate leadership behaviors.
* Full proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
* Experience managing design teams, with a focus on mentorship and development.
* Ability to kick off the creative process drawing on not only briefs but your understanding of Pret, our customers, and previous experience you’ve had.
* Ability to work as part of a team with designers, creative directors, brand managers, content designers, and more to get the job done.
* Strong global mindset and perspective.
* Knowledge of Figma and Trello would be helpful.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Demonstrated appreciation for the Pret brand.
* Retail or Hospitality Marketing experience is useful but not essential.
* Experience writing cross-platform - understanding the specifics of writing for mobile, tablets, and apps and the digital production process.
